Deployment/Election Day

well, i'm officially a deployed spouse. kyle left yesterday. i was able to go back to the terminal and wait with him. that was lots of fun we spent over an hour taking pictures of ourselves making funny faces. i didn't cry when he got on the plane, i'm not that type of girl. not that there's anything wrong with cryers, i just can't do it.
anyway, today is election day. i live in a "swing" state now so i had people come up to the house everyday for the last week and half reminding me to go down and vote. i went in this morning and was happy i only had to wait a little over an hour. after watching the news i was excpecting over 2 hours. some areas here were on the news as having a 4-6 hour line! at least people are voting. it's such an important time for our country. it is every americans (over 18) right and responsibility to go down and vote. i hope all my friends and family went and did it. kyle even voted through absentee ballot before he left.
anyway, i'm getting a massage on friday. it's at a new place, not my normal girl. this one is closer to home and i've been getting crazy advertising from them so i figured i'd try them out. if i like it i might start going there. its seriously like 5 min away. my normal girl is down by our old house which is like 25 minutes away so this place would be good. gas has gone down -$1.87!!!! but who know's how long that's oing to last.
yes that's right. today i bought gas for $1.87. i filled up my truck for a little over $20. i was so excited i did a little car dance as i drove away. i went down to ikea and i got this spatula that's like double wide. it's awesome i can't wait to make jumbo pankakes with it.

cool book i'm reading

hi everyone! its aerro and i was reading this book that i thought was really great its called why gender matters: what parents and teachers need to know about the emerging science of sex differences by leonard sax. anyway, its really good. i understand the men in my life so much better. i even understand myself better. for example, boys cant hear as well as girls. so when i'm talking to kyle and he always tells me he cant hear me when i feel like i'm talking at a reasonable level. also it talks about how the brain functions differently and how men and women use it differently. what i really like about it is that when he says something he always tells where he got it from and from when. anyway, 23 days to halloween!! are the pumpkin trees starting to bloom?

Long time no blog!!

ok it has been a few months and a lot has happened. first i had a birthday! i turned 24 in august. it was a good birthday. mom and dad sent up a birthday in a box and it was lots of fun! we had drinks with umbrellas in them and chinese paper lanterns hanging around the deck and pink swirly flowers that glittered in the moonlight! thanks mom and dad for sending me a birthday party. kyle's mom came down and celebrated with us as well. it was really a double birthday party because kyle's birthday is a week after mine and he left for a 5 week training course the next day.
i spent the next five weeks working and sleeping. i walked the dogs a few times in there too :) right before kyle got back though we had the hurricane hit here. at least that's what every one is calling it. it was really a hurricane with no water. it didn't rain, but we had strong enough winds that the entire area was out of power. some people it was only for a few days for others it was almost two weeks. i was out of power for about 4 days. which is just enough time for everything to melt and start to get warm. luckily i had an empty freezer that was powered to move some food too. kyle and i are still cleaning up the damage though. we had some branches break off of our trees in the back yard and some siding came loose. the gutters flew off the house and down the road a bit. i got them back though. anyway, now kyle is home.
we just got back from a wedding over in the eastern side of ohio. it was at this little vineyard. it was really a lot of fun. and i got to see kyle in a tux and cowboy boots! well anyway, for those who don't know, mom and dad created a bignall family blog for us to keep in touch as a family. i think it's great. i put up a blog there about this great book i've been reading. i'm going to paste it on here as well for those who don't want to go there. well that's it for now.

Matt's Wedding/Nearly Dying in a Plane

well, last weekend matty got married! kyle and i flew down to san angelo to see it. now i don't like to fly. not at all. i understand that it's the fastest way to travel and i appreciate that it makes it possible to spend more time where your going. but man do i hate it! especially those little planes! i had a near death experiance on this last trip because of one of those planes. our pilot had been coming in to fast to land and the plane fishtailed and leaned over onto one side. people were screaming, men were crying, and the flight attendents nearly peed thier pants. it was truly terrifing. i mean i never actually thought i was going to die on a plane untill that landing. and we were on the ground! the whole flight was awful. full of turbulance and it was just aweful. ok moving on.

well the wedding was fantastic. dusty was absolutly gorgeous in her dress. and matt was looking very nice in his uniform. bishop bushman performed the ceremony and he said a lot of really wonderful things. explaining the symbolism of the wedding ceremony and i thought it was just really nice. during the ceremony both matt and dusty had tears in there eyes.

of course matt's wedding wouldn't be complete without the rock and roll band to walk down the isle to. yes that's right matt's friend james and his band played cannon in d on their electric guitars and drums. they had even made a wrote a special intro to the wedding march when dusty started down the isle. in all actuallity, it was really kinda cool. deffinetly matthew. he's lucky that dusty is cool enough to handle him. they got married at the lake in san angelo and it was just a beautiful day and a great sunset wedding.

the reception was a lot of fun. we had homemade root beer and it was catered by chick-fil-a. the cake was cute too. it was decorated with sunflowers and it was chocolate! unfortunatly for me i didn't get to eat a whole lot of food. the chicken nuggets had unfortunatly been sitting on top of the ice bag, so they were cold. i did eat some fruit and that was nice.

i don't have any pictures to put up yet because kyle took them on his camera and he had to catch a flight to his next trip right away so we weren't able to download any on my computer. i'll try and put some up though. or you can go to my parent's picture site (the Reunion link) and see pics from the wedding, the reception, the reharsal, and the "official" picture taking for the wedding.

Bob Evans

ok so tonight i went to bob evans to get some dinner. right away it was off to a bad start. i was there by mself and figured they would sit me at a small table. well they didn't. i was seated way in the back at a table for four. right across the isle of a table for two. no big it wasn't a problem. well then i sit and i wait. about 5 min later the asst. manager comes and takes my drink order. 10 min after that my waitress comes and instead of saying sorry for the wait she goes and does this : oh you poor dear, i'm so sorry for the wait, your in the back. i'm ***** and i'll be right with you.
now this girl was younger than i am. i know i'm sitting by myself, but i don't really consider myself a "poor dear." so a few min later she comes back and takes my order. now if you don't know, at bob evans they bring you bread while you wait for your meal. at least they are supposed too. my bread came with my meal 20 min later. and they were stale. the food was decent as always, but the service tonight was just aweful. i was completly ignored the entire time i was there. next time, i'll just get it to go.

4th of July

ok this 4th of july we had a neighborhood bbq. it was really a lot of fun! we set up in the front yard between our house and our nieghbors house. we had the grill out, music, tables, chairs. it was great. we even set up a canopy because it was drizzling a bit in the beginning. there were still fireworks though. they were provided by the neightbors on the next street. the only drawback was knowing that the next morning our neighbors on that side of the street would have to pick up the debris from their yards and off their roof. all in all though it was fun. and the food was so good! my neighbor carol brought this jello dessert that was fantastic! it was strawberry jello on top of a cream cheese sugar mix all on top of pretzles with strawberries on top of it all. it was fantastic.

Treadmill

ok so the other day kyle and i bought a treadmill. we saw it in the store and decided that we watned it so we bought it and took it home and decided to set it up in one of the spare bedrooms upstairs. well when we got it home, the box was a lot bigger than we thought it would be and a lot more akward. there was no way we were going to manuver that thing up the stairs! so we decided to set it up downstairs then fold it in the upright position and then take it upstairs. getting it together took no time at all since kyle actually reads the instructions in the box. so we have it at the base of the stairs folded up and ready to take it up, except it's too wide and the railings are in the way. that's ok we said we needed to tighten them anyway, why don't we just take them down and put them back up later when we get the treadmill upstairs. so we did. take them down. all right so now the staircase is wide enough we start. we make it about 3 steps before i fall and drop the treadmill (unfortunalty kyle was at the bottom so he had to save it). no worries i'm ok. finally i tell kyle this isn't going to work i can't lift it up all these stairs. so now it is in our front living room. this is probably the best place for it anyway because now when i watch tv i'll probably feel guilty enough that i'll get up and use it instead of just sitting on the couch.
